15 Months

Maya turned 15 months on November 6th. I'm a bit behind in the posts, and before you know it, Maya will be 16 months and we'll be celebrating the holidays!

Maya is doing great. She now has 6 teeth. She weighed 19 lbs, 9 oz. at her 15th month appointment and was 30 inches long.

It's been a busy month! First, we moved into our new house the middle of October. We all are really enjoying having a backyard for Maya to play in with her very own playset!

We got to celebrate Maya's second Halloween this year. She was a bit too young to go trick-or-treating, but I think that she enjoyed dressing up in her little lamb costume (courtesy of Grammy!) for daycare. At least it kept her warm (and she looked adorable)!

Maya also had fun at the Fall Fest at her daycare, where she got to play outside, play with hay bales, and go "bobbing" for apples!

In her favorite spot - the sand box!

Maya loved playing with the apples and the water.

Having fun with bubble soap!

Finally, Maya is really growing up! Daddy bought her a little table and chairs, which she loves sitting at!

And, Maya is finally starting to walk a bit. She loves pushing toys around and will also walk a bit while holding our hands. She'll be doing it on her own very soon, I'm sure!

Here's a little video showing her pushing her car along.

14 Months

Another month, come and gone! Maya continues to grow into a "little girl" every day. First, the big news is that we finally have teeth poking through! Right now, we can see 2 on the bottom, and one on the top that have cut through. I'm sure that more will be on their way soon. This month, Maya has started waving to everyone. Whenever we leave a room, she waves good-bye. She has also gotten much better about pointing to what she wants and saying "more" throughout every meal.

Here are some other highlights from the last month:

One of Maya's favorite places to hang out is inside our bathroom cabinet! She fits perfectly and loves crawling in there and then opening and shutting the door to play peek-a-boo. She could probably sit in there for hours!

We were lucky to have a visit this past month from our friends Jenn, Tom, Aidan and Emma! Maya had a great time playing with them.

Having fun at the playground

This month, we also got to make a visit to Grammy and Pop's house! Maya had a great time seeing everyone.
Having fun with Pop on the rocking horse

Maya also loves the slide that Grammy and Pop got her for her first birthday. She can even climb up the stair in the back and go down all by herself!

All in all, we've had a great month! We are getting ready to move into our new house, so we'll see how Maya adjusts. Stay tuned!

13 months

We've been having a lot of fun this last month! Maya is really growing into her own little person as she moves past the one year mark. She is still not walking, but is getting close. One of her favorite things to do is to be on the "phone." She will use anything she can as a phone - her hand, a book, the remote control, a towel, etc. She just puts whatever it is up to her ear and says "hello!"

Using my book as a phone on my 13th month birthday

This month has been busy! First, at the end of August, we got a chance to celebrate Maya's first birthday in California. We had a great time, and everyone really enjoyed seeing Maya.

While in California, we took a few days a drove up the coast to a little town called Los Olivos. We spent two days there and enjoyed the great weather, as well as some wine tasting.

Enjoying a dutch pastry!

Having fun while wine tasting!

We also got to spend a few hours at the beach. Maya loved it just as much as she did when we were in Ocean City!

And of course, we had a big birthday celebration!

I didn't really eat my cake, but I enjoyed smashing it!

Loving my Gap gift card!

Looking pretty in my dress that Grammy made!

Finally, Maya did a pretty good job on the plane. Luckily, on the way home, we had a row just for us, so it gave us a bit more of that needed space!
Staying busy going through mommy and daddy's stuff on the plane

Right after coming back from California, Maya started at a new daycare. It took her a few days to adjust, but she seems to like it and is doing well. Stay tuned for new adventures to come!

One Trip Around the Sun

Well, we reached the one year mark...hard to believe! Maya has changed so much since one year ago (see above pictures!). She is pulling herself up everywhere, walking while holding on to furniture, reaching for everything in sight, and even trying to stand up on her own. It likely won't be long before she is up and walking. She loves to smile, laugh, and babble. She also loves being around people, and especially loves other babies and kids. We're still waiting on teeth to emerge, but maybe one day soon!

Maya is very interactive these days, exploring everything. She had a lot of fun when we took her to a park the other weekend.

She also loves pulling everything off of her shelves!

We had fun celebrating Maya's first birthday! She didn't care too much about opening presents, but did pull a little on the paper and enjoyed what was inside!

Enjoying her new present.

Maya had a great time at daycare celebrating her birthday!

And we had a little party for her at home. She ate her first cupcake and really enjoyed it!
Check out my birthday hat!

Yum, Yum!

Now that Maya is 1, we decided that she was old enough to drive!

Thanks Aunt Rebekah and Uncle Brandon for my first car!

The next few weeks will be busy. Soon, we'll make the trip to California to celebrate Maya's birthday with her West Coast family. Then, when we get back, she'll be starting a new daycare. I'm sure that she'll do great there. Stay tuned for updates!
