2 years old!

Well, we made it to 2 years! It's hard to believe how fast time has gone and also to think about how little Maya was not too long ago! It has been a really fun year. Maya is talking up a storm these days and will try to repeat nearly anything that is said (so, watch out!). She is walking, running, and trying really hard to jump too. She has 12 teeth, with numbers 13 and 14 on their way (which is great, considering that last year at this time, she didn't have any!). She loves looking at books and playing with her dolls and stuffed toys. She has also gotten very good at colors (yellow and blue are favorites!), and attempts to count (although she keeps saying "1, 2, 4, 8..." but she'll get there one day). She absolutely loves her daycare and talks about her friends all the time. Most importantly, Maya loves to have a great time and loves to laugh! Bottom line is that she is (usually) one happy toddler!

Here are some pictures from her birthday party. Despite the construction going on in our house, we had a few friends over to celebrate the big day!

Ocean City, July 2014

Mid-July was time for our annual family trip to Ocean City, NJ! Maya had an absolutely wonderful time playing at the beach and also playing with her cousin!

Maya had a great time playing in the sand, and even got buried!

She loved walking on the boardwalk and going on all the rides with her cousins!

Walking hand in hand with "Momo"

Riding on the train...

...and in a helicopter...

...and in an elephant

...and in a car!

The Carousel was on of Maya's favorites!

We even got to go on a surrey ride with Pop and Jacob!

Finally, Maya just had a great time hanging out at "Pop's beach house" with everyone!

22 and 23 Months

I know that I'm behind in my posts, so here is a quick catch-up!

Maya turned 22 months at the beginning of June and 23 months at the beginning of July...

22 months - in this picture, Maya kept asking for "happy cake" and is a bit upset because there was none!

In June, we spent a lot of time outside exploring. We went to Gravelly Point, which is right by the airport, and Maya got to watch the planes landing right over her head! She loved it!

On Daddy's shoulders watching the airplanes
Maya also loved checking out the grapes growing right in our backyard!

One of the big highlights in July was our 4th of July trip to go see our friends Rebekah and Andrew in Raleigh. We had a great time exploring the city and catching up with them!

Cheers!

Happy 4th of July!

California Trip

Last week we spent a week in California, and had a wonderful time! Maya did pretty well on the flights and adjusted well to the time change.

We first spent a night in a hotel, and Maya got to go swimming in the pool. She also played some basketball with Daddy!

Then we headed up to a small beach town called Avila Beach. We went with some of Raj's friends, and Maya loved it. I think that she may have her first (west coast) boyfriend - Kai!

As soon as we got out of the car, they started holding hands.

Maya and Kai loved playing on the beach and just hanging out!

After the beach, we had a surprise party for Raj's dad's birthday. Maya's favorite part was playing in the fountain and hanging out with Mike!

20 and 21 Months

The last few months have flown by! Maya turned 20 months on April 6th. Here are some pictures from her 20 Month birthday.

Since the weather has been getting warmer, we've been spending a lot of time outside. Maya loves to help Daddy garden!

Maya also went into a pool for the first time recently. We started her in swim lessons, but prior to that, we wanted to take her into the pool. She really loves all things related to water!

In mid-April, we went to Pennsylvania to celebrate Easter. Maya had an absolute blast playing with her cousins - especially "Momo." Maya had her first egg hunt, and did great once she got the hang of it!

Maya wasn't too sure about the Easter Bunny.

But she had a great time "honking" Momo's nose!

And, she didn't mind at all being tackled over and over again!

On Easter, she got to wear the pretty dress Grammy made for her, and play more with her cousins!

At the beginning of May, Maya got her first trip to the beach for the season. We went to Bethany Beach in Delaware, and had a great time. Even though the water was freezing, Maya did not mind at all!

Maya has also been doing some fun things at daycare! They traced all of their bodies, and here is the result!

Finally, Maya turned 21 months on May 6th. She is really growing up!

She loves putting her hands in her pockets!
